Sword Art Online 24 – We’ve Reached the Final Frontier

After 23 episodes, Sword Art Online abandons all pretenses and exposes itself for the toxic, concentrated ball of awfulness that it is. If only more anime had been more honest with themselves like Sword Art Online was, then my anime viewing experience would’ve been ten times better.

It’s sad this series only makes an appearance on my blog after presenting the worst episode of 2012 to date. Way to go, SAO. Your distasteful inclusion of NTR and decapitation along with your laughable ‘drama’ has finally allowed you to share the throne with Guilty Crown as the rightful kings of Terribad 2012.

Like Evil!CEO Sword Art Online licks your tears as it violates you with its horrible existence.

Before someone raids this blog and tells me I should’ve just dropped it instead of bashing it: Why should I drop one of the best comedies of the year?

  1. I can think of very few words to describe an episode as catastrophic and calamitous as this. I’d like to think that the only people could appreciate this episode 24 are a group of humanoid mutant lizards living in the sewers of New York, but the wide, positive reception from the fans tells me otherwise.

    • positive reception from the fans tells me otherwise.

Wait, what? I kept hearing the fans themselves didn’t like this episode. But judging by the RC, tumblr and MAl reactions. People are still willing to defend this shit.

      • I’d like to think that after the third episode, a large majority of people had already solidified their opinions of the show and are largely unwilling to budge, whether positive or negative. Regardless, this a strong, strong contender for the worst episode of 2012.

        I mean, tear-licking? C’mooooooooon!

        • I still had my hopes up during the time SAO was adapting the short stories, because these things tend to be a hit or miss. But once it ventured into the ‘main plot’ LN readers were hyping to no end, that’s when I knew I was in for a bumpy ride.

I never thought I’d see the day GC would finally meet a worthy opponent IN THE SAME YEAR.

      • When someone on the SAO watch said that this episode made the fans angry, I started expecting some fabulous. By the time we were done, I was agreeing with the fans. This can’t be a good sign.

  2. No amount of preparation could have prepared me for this episode. And that’s saying a lot, considering what I’ve sat through in the past. I’ve seen NTR that I’d rather watch over this piece of shit.

  3. I wonder how the third arc is. Can’t beat this. Impossible.
